Hello my dearest fiends.

I wanted to sit by the hearth with you and have a nice heart to heart.

(rips out my heart TEMPLE OF DOOM style)

Here you go. Now you!

I'm kidding! Though I do love some good theatrics. Theatrics is part of why I love the original Addams Family TV series so much. There is so much passion and vibrancy radiating through that family. Whether it's Gomez throwing himself head first (literally with the Zen Yogi) into his interests, or Wednesday punching a misogynist, rotten, little boy, this family follows through with zest on what they love and believe in. And what they love and believe in is something this world needs a lot more of right now.

The Addams family are the best of us. Not because they are kooky, and macabre, that's just a plus! They are the best of us because they meet everyone with an open mind, and heart full of love. They think the things that makes us unique and different are beautiful and a chance to learn from one another. They face challenges as a learning experience and are unrelenting optimists. They are generous and desire to make the world a better place for everyone. They also act on that desire with action. And in all of their action, there is always passion. Passion for what they love, what they are doing, who they are, encouraging others' passions, and overall, just a passion for the gift of life.

The Addams' are the family so many of us longed for growing up. A family that celebrates us as we are, and embraces us unconditionally. Love is not a weakness. Giving a damn is real power. These are all values we need more of in the today times.

I hope that when you watch the show or listen to us on our podcast, that you are reminded that all these good things and good people! exist. I hope that you also find the strength to keep hoping. I hope you find that there really is a community out there for you if you're willing to be a part of it. All we ask is that you love and treat others the way you want to be treated. I have it on good authority that Mr. Rogers would agree and personally adore the Addams Family. Bob Ross too. So you'll be in good company.

Anyway, thanks for sitting with me here in this moment. I know your time is valuable and your company even more so. We love having you.

Until next time, stay altogether ooky fiends. 💗
