Progress & the Addams Family: & when moving on doesn't mean giving up.
Dear Fiends,
Our episode this week is shorter than most. We always try to keep them under an hour, but this one clocks in at only 32 minutes! And even that was stretching it!
It's a sweet and simple little episode so there wasn't a whole lot to say about it. I can't believe we totally missed that Mr. Henson, played by Parley Baer, is the voice of Chester from the Gunsmoke radio show as well as one of the mayors of Mayberry in The Andy Griffith Show. So dunce caps on us for that one! Also, that double spouted teapot originates from China, not Turkey. I'm sure they are everywhere, but the ones I was referring to that became trendy were the Chinese ones.
That said, thinking about moving made me think about leaving things behind, and that let to a wonderful discussion about our relationship to plants and place. Boy, do I miss my grandfather's garden more than anything. For me, Heaven is getting to go back there and take a nap under the elephant leaves with a mango in my hand to snack on later. Then I hear my grandfather calling me, and it's time to take his hand once again like we did when I was small, and walk together for our daily treat. That man made me feel so loved, and he taught me about the importance of small joys in life. More important than the big ones even, because it's the small ones that keep you going from day to day.
Anyway, I hope you like our newest episode. Please do comment and tell us about your favorite places, plants, or memories. We'd love to hear them.
Take care and stay kooky!
