Raul Julia: Part 2 & End of the Year Business

Image
Dear Fiends, I must've caught something nasty when working with the elves last week, because boy am I sicker than a dog eating the entire German chocolate cake that your Aunt Ida brought for the Christmas dinner. This week, on the last day of 2025, we are sending you out with the final part of our 2 part episodes on Raul Julia as M. Bison, the perfect non Santa Santa. In this one, we dive a little deeper into our thoughts about how the movie industry has changed and how technology is changing the way we do things. We also get sad about a few things, then get really happy about the little family of fiends we have gathered here. We've made a year's worth of episodes, and believe me, we can't believe it either. We are very excited to continue upward and onward. As always, thank you for listening, watching, and supporting. You make us feel like Addams Family Universe celebrities, even though we don't talk near enough about the Addams Family LOL. I'm going to rename...

Raul Julia: The Santa We Deserve

Image
Dear Fiends, So I'm a few days late on this one. I was so busy helping the elves make creepy and kooky toys for the goth kids that I got behind on this podcast. But, as a self appointed Addams Family Creepy and Kooky Expert, of course I had to say yes when they asked for me to help out! For Christmas, we wanted to give you kooky kids something special as well. This is a topic JohnPaul and I have long wanted to cover, and we were always kind of waiting for the right tie in to make it work. This fell into our lap like the way Ken and Ryu can't help but make bad decisions. So here we are, the Great Raul Julia, as M. Bison, in the tremendous cult classic that deserves many awards for awesomeness- STREET FIGHTER. Because if anyone can pull off evil Santa and still makes us love him, it is truly Raul Julia, the one and only. This episode was meant to be a fun one off that we assumed would be a pretty campy and short bonus episode. And, while it has our usual shenanigans, it also has...

Progress & the Addams Family: & when moving on doesn't mean giving up.

Image
Dear Fiends, Our episode this week is shorter than most. We always try to keep them under an hour, but this one clocks in at only 32 minutes! And even that was stretching it! It's a sweet and simple little episode so there wasn't a whole lot to say about it. I can't believe we totally missed that Mr. Henson, played by Parley Baer, is the voice of Chester from the Gunsmoke radio show as well as one of the mayors of Mayberry in The Andy Griffith Show. So dunce caps on us for that one! Also, that double spouted teapot originates from China, not Turkey. I'm sure they are everywhere, but the ones I was referring to that became trendy were the Chinese ones. That said, thinking about moving made me think about leaving things behind, and that let to a wonderful discussion about our relationship to plants and place. Boy, do I miss my grandfather's garden more than anything. For me, Heaven is getting to go back there and take a nap under the elephant leaves with a mango in m...

Morticia's Favorite Charity... & our thoughts on Self Love

Image
Dear Fiends, I'm especially proud of this one this week. While the  fundraiser episode itself was a lot of fun, I love where it took us this week in our discussion. We can laugh, cry, and love together on this podcast, and that's what matters.  Just a few content warnings, we do talk about funerals and death, as well as horror, specifically the pain found in J-Horror. We also talk a lot about processing grief. But don't worry, there's always some laughs to be had, especially when we fantasize about an Addams Family News Cast and the revelation of watching Addams Family while nude! We have it all! This is a wet one. Take that as you will. You were warned! All our love to you, K. Alt Text:  A red background has white text that says, "Morticia's Favorite Charity... S1:E29.. You Rang: Addams Family Podcast." There is a picture of one of the hosts, JohnPaul who seems to be rubbing his eye in pain against a background of shelves with games and collectibles. The...

My Son, the Chimp. S1:E28

Dear Fiends, Winter has decided to settle in like a lion, and these past few days have been spent fighting the ever increasing snow building up in front of my door. What a silly thing, here I am trying my damnedest to get out when usually I want nothing except to stay in. But I guess people still need to eat, and my kids weren't buying that fresh snow is free ice cream. It's pretty close though!  After a short week long break, JohnPaul and I are back at it, usurping all your time to talk about why he's bad a primates, the best directors to shoot NYC, comic books, Trash Packs, how hot Bob Hoskins is, and much more. We do sprinkle some Addams in there just to keep you hooked, because we know that for you, just like for us, John Astin's Gomez is a drug we never want to be sober from.  The episode we cover this week is super cute, super campy, and as always a little kooky. Hey, did you know Ken Weatherwax's (Puglsey) Uncle was a professional animal trainer for showbiz?...

Autumn Leaves and Kooky Things

Image
Dear Fiends, Logging in today, I realized that I never posted our Halloween Surprise, the Paul Lynde Halloween Special in two parts. Which is a bummer to me, because while I know that you probably already knew anyway if you're a subscriber, it just means I really fell behind on keeping up with this podcast. But, onward and upward! This week we get back to covering the original series again. I was surprised at how happy it made me to do so. There are episodes that I wonder if we'll have enough to talk about when it comes to the TV show, but then we end up doing just fine. If this overall project has taught me anything, it's to trust the process and enjoy building skills every step of the way.  JohnPaul and I have talked about our future plans with what we're going to do with membership tiers to make them worth your while (I haven't forgotten you and am working on things now), as well as some community building things. I am excited to get back to work on these things...

Halloween with the New Addams (77)

Image
Dear Fiends, Our episode on Halloween with the New Addams (1977) is up to watch on YouTube and everywhere else to listen. I am excited as we get closer to revealing our surprise episode for the week of Halloween.  Alt Text: A red title screen with white font that says "Halloween with the New Addams (77)" and underneath it says "You Rang: An Addams Family Podcast".
